Balcony plants are one of the best ways to spruce up the outdoor areas of your home. You can have a couple of plants or a small garden.

1. Snake Plant

Since the snake plant likes all types of light, it can do well and look nice on a balcony. Overall, it’s a forgiving plant and requires minimal effort. It’s best to water it when the soil dries out.

3. Bird’s nest fern

Bird’s nest fern is distinct because it has large tropical-like fronds. If you’re putting it on your balcony, it looks great on a table. It also does best with indirect light or shade. When you water the fern, water around it, and not directly into the fern.

4. Hydrangea

Hydrangeas are colorful and beautiful flowers that bloom in the summer and spring. Although it’s a shrub, hydrangeas are more commonly known for their large globes of flowers. If you’d like to plant hydrangea seeds, do it in the spring or fall.

5. Fuchsia

Fuchsias have multi-colored blossoms that look the best when they’re hung from a basket or window box. Fuchsias love moist soil and indirect light. During the colder seasons, bring your Fuchsia indoors, and give them as much light as possible.

6. Petunia

Petunias are a great way to add long-term color to your balcony in the summer. They’re perennial, however, most are grown as annuals. Petunias enjoy the sun. If you can give them sunlight all day, they’ll be happy. If you place them in the shade, you’ll notice fewer flowers.

7. Geranium

Geraniums are popular plants that bloom bright flowers from spring to fall. Although it’s most commonly called geranium, it’s actually a pelargonium. Caring for geraniums is straightforward as it needs to be watered once per week.

8. Herbs

Herbs are one of the best balcony plants because it doesn’t take up much space, and you can enjoy it with your meals. Mint, thyme, sage, rosemary, and chives are several options that are easy to care for.
